General Questions

By definition, an HTTP cookie is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website. When you visit the website again, the cookie allows that site to recognize your browser. Cookies may store user preferences and other information. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some website features or services may not function properly without cookies. More from Wikipedia HTTP Cookie.

With KMS, the cookie is used to store the Session ID; it is used to identify which session is yours, though doesn't actually contain the session information. If cookies are not supported, the Session ID can't be stored and the server can't pair the session when the user makes another request. Without them, using the web would be a much more frustrating experience.

Trusted sites avoid petty script errors typically raised by Browser incompatibility & Email Junk/Spam auto-routing.

Browsers:

"Microsoft Internet Explorer allows you to control security in several ways: through site certificates, Authenticode publishers, & security zones. You can preinstall certificates on users' computers and block users from downloading other certificates. You can also set ratings for the content your users view.

"The Internet Explorer security options enable you to assign specific Web sites to various zones, depending on how much you trust the content of the Web site. A Trusted Sites zone is one where you can assign sites that you trust."

We invite you to download and install our SSL Certificate for seamless security:

  • Locate the "Lock" icon in the browser address bar and click it to discover the details.
  • Some browsers allow you to install the certificate, others use the "Export/Import" method; both work fine.

Known Issues with reCAPTCHA:

  • JAVA out-of-date warning. Reported during trials on 2015-10-26. There are two resolutions:
    • Ignore the warning; click to dismiss all alerts – otherwise it will block forward progress in whatever action. Google is aware of the issue but has not provided comment. We at G2AG believe this is still the best anti-bot solution and trust that Google will provide a resolution if the issue belongs to them.
    • Stop current activity. Go to Java.com, install the latest Java engine, and uninstall older obsolete engines. There is no harm in upgrading basic well-documented well-engineered and respected tools for web. When this procedure is complete, please come back to G2AG and restart your process.
  • BOT expires before Registration form completion. Presently the only workaround is to be quicker at completing the form.

This is a known issue with Google's Chromium Browser since 2011. Specifically, Chrome briefly flashes white during page navigations & with "postbacks" to the web server on in situ requests, such as page updates without refresh & product searching.

Ways to work around the problem:

  • Use another browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
  • Notify Google to fix their browser. It's not a workaround, although they say 'a squeaky wheel...'
